Almost four decades of experience
From Noorbeek to all of Europe
Desk Services was founded in 1987 by Ruud Kreuwels in a house in Noorbeek. Before long, the rooms were full of machines, packaging materials and everything else needed to run promotions properly.
Today we serve the Netherlands and the wider Benelux from Maastricht, and we're expanding rapidly across Europe. Our scale, technology and international reach keep growing. But our mentality hasn't changed: practical and hands-on, taking responsibility and making sure everything behind the scenes is right down to the last detail.
- Grown into the market leader in the Netherlands and the Benelux in almost 40 years
- Experience built on thousands of promotions for clients at home and abroad
- Strong in high volumes, AI and data security, and personal contact
More work called for more space
1987 – today
From a farmhouse in Noorbeek to an international specialist in promotional campaigns. For almost 40 years we've been handling cashback promotions, consumer campaigns and fulfilment solutions for leading brands.
1987 | The start in Noorbeek
Monique Saelmans and Ruud Kreuwels found Desk Services from a farmhouse in Noorbeek. After four years at a marketing agency in Amsterdam, they take the step into running their own business.
Late 1980s | The first big brands
Through their network they quickly win over well-known brand manufacturers. The first cashback promotions, loyalty campaigns and premium promotions are delivered successfully.
The 1990s | Rapid growth and the move to Margraten
To keep growing, Desk Services moves to Margraten. The extra space makes it possible to organise the work more professionally and handle larger volumes. Registration, verification, customer service, logistics and financial processing form one single process. Campaigns with more than 100,000 participants are the rule rather than the exception. A network of home workers is built up to process all the entries.
2000 – 2010 | International expansion
More and more campaigns are run internationally. French-speaking staff join the team, and new systems for scanning and automated data processing are introduced. In this period Desk Services also processes applications for major international events, including ticket campaigns for the UEFA™ European Football Championship EURO2000™, held in the Netherlands and Belgium.
2015 | Thousands of promotions later: on to Maastricht
After thousands of promotions for national and international clients, Desk Services takes the next step in 2015. The move to Maastricht makes it possible to grow into a multidisciplinary organisation.
2015 – 2020 | Focus on specialisation
Requirements around automation, security and privacy legislation increase sharply. Desk Services develops further into a specialist in campaign management and data processing.
2020 – 2024 | Organising smartly
Repetitive work is placed with specialised partners, which keeps Desk Services flexible and scalable. Cashback amounts have meanwhile grown from a few euros to more than 1,500 euros per transaction.
2024 | A new owner
Gert Wildvank takes over Desk Services. No stranger to the company: his own organisation had been working with it for years. All existing knowledge, staff and ways of working are retained, with the aim of growing further across Europe.
2025 | The next chapter
Operational experience is now combined with AI, OCR and other intelligent technologies. Clients from Germany, Norway, Hungary, Spain and beyond know where to find Desk Services. And the ambition reaches further: making our processes scalable for even more European countries.
Technology in our own hands
AI and innovative technologies play a key role in the next phase of our development. At Desk Services we use them for document recognition, to structure data and speed up checks. And, for instance, to spot possible anomalies sooner.
We work with sensitive data, so functionality and security matter equally. That's why we develop solutions we host on-premise or in private clouds. Under our own control, because we don't share data with third parties.
Personally involved
AI can read documents in seconds, and systems can sort thousands of registrations quickly and reliably. Or check them automatically. Still, not every case file fits the standard processing route, and even the best models can't answer or resolve every question.
That's why the personal involvement of our people is a real asset.
"Our project managers keep the overview and our data specialists look for anomalies. We use technology wherever it's faster, safer and more consistent. That frees up our people for the exceptions, the personal contact and the decisions that call for experience and common sense."
History becomes valuable when it points the way to what comes next. That's why we regularly look back, to Noorbeek and Margraten, and at how each move created room for the next phase of growth.
Today that room comes mainly from technology and our growth across Europe.
